Once the SCG sender ids are created, it is convenient to group them into a private channel.

A private channel allows SCG to select the most suitable sender id at run time while processing each message request.

This document provides examples on how to add and remove a sender id from a private channel.

Creating a Private Channel

In SCG, in the Voice & Messaging Console open the options menu on the left and locate Messaging Accounts.

There you have the option to get into the Private Channels screen:

The Private Channels screen displays the existing Private Channels:

To create a Private Channel just click the button New Private Channel:

All Active Sender Addresses will be displayed as shown below:

In this example, we fill the values for Name and Description and select the desired sender addresses:

Finally, just need to click Save to create the new Private Channel:

After saving the new channel, SCG displays the Private Channel screen along with the updates:

Adding a sender address to an existing Channel

To add a new sender address to an existing channel go to the Channel screed and click the Channel Edit button for the channel you want to edit:

The Update Private Channel screen displays and shows the Add Sender Address button that you must click to add a new sender address:

The Select Sender Addresses screen shows all the active sender addresses available for you to select and add to the channel:

Check your selection of sender addresses to add and click OK:

You will get back to the Update Private Channel screen where you must click the SAVE button:

Refresh the Channel screen and confirm the new Sender Address is now in your channel Sender Addresses list:

Removing a sender address from an existing Channel

To delete a Sender Address from an existing Channel you must click the Edit button for the selected channel

This will display the Channel Edit screen 

To remove a sender, mark the checkbox on the left of sender you want to remove. In our example mark and then click Save

Then you can refresh you Channel Details screen and confirm the selected sender Address was removed from the channel senders list.
