Sometimes there is a need to implement a quick personalized SMS campaign and there is just no time for software developments or to get into the details of implement API calls or scripts to perform these campaigns.
SCG UI provide all required functionality to fully execute personalized massive messaging using the Contacts Addressbook, the Fast Access fields and Templates.
This document provides details on how to create a Template that allow message personalization using fast access fields, that can later be used for bulk messaging.
SCG Addressbook and contacts
We are assuming that we already had uploaded the contacts and the upload include the fast access fields we are going to use as reference in the Template.
- Contacts are already uploaded into the SCG Addressbook.
- There is a target Group of contacts already created.
- There is a fast access field 3 for the expiration date.
- There is a fast access field 5 for the points balance.

Use case: bulk personalized messages
We want to send a reminder message to a group of contacts with details about their current "points" balance and their "expiration date".
Solution: we need to create a message Template for all contacts in the target group with the personalized message that include the expiration date and current points balance:
Creating the Template
1. Login to SDC portal and find Voice and Messaging Console:
2. Select your account to get into your SCG UI:
3. Confirm the Fast Access field for the Group reference value by reviewing the Addressbook / Fast
Access configuration:
4. Verify the example use case: Fast Access fields 3 and 5 are the "exp_date" and "points":
5. Now we can create a Template: Click the Messaging / Templates option on the menu:
6. Click the New Template red button:
7. Set a template name and in the message or Pattern we can reference contact Fields and Fast Access fields as:
Hello ${Contact.first_name}, your current points balance is ${Contact.fast_access_5}, remember you have until ${Contact.fast_access_3} to redeem. Enjoy!
Note: current SCG release supports Fast Access fields reference to up to fast_access_5.
8. Click Save.
The new template is now listed in the existing Templates:
We can double click the new Template and see details:
